Remote working and the credit crunch

Remote working and the credit crunch
Many people around the world are opting to work from the comfort of their homes. The pros of doing this far outweigh the cons for most people. Employers are also finding that remote working is a positive way to go in the poor economic times. Remote working and the credit crunch seem to be a positive thing for both employees and employers. Employers are not having to pay agency fees, but are still able to get the skilled employees that they need to thrive with their businesses. Business owners do not have to put out the extra overhead that they did in the past as they no longer need the big office spaces when they use remote workers. Business owners are finding that there is an increased productivity with the remote worker making them more competitive in today’s market. The workers also are able to have better balance of their work and leisure activities. Remote working also saves the employees the transportation cost that they would incur if they had to work outside of the home, as well as gives the opportunity to be available for the commitments they have within the family unit. Families are also finding that being able to work from their homes lowers child care costs that would otherwise be incurred if they had to leave the house and go to a job every day. This is another positive thing with remote working and the credit crunch. Parents are able to look after their own children. Being able to be home also serves the advantage that the remote worker will take less time off due to stress related illnesses. There seems to be more and more employers that are willing to opt for the remote workers as a viable option, especially during these tough economic times. They like the idea of having more money as they have less overhead. The people that they employ are also more readily available to them and with the internet and the options that are available now they can be in constant touch with their employees just as much as if they were in the office, if not more so. Remote working and the credit crunch are going together in a positive way. They are a way for employers to reduce expenses and the employees are able to do the same. Being able to have the extra money in their pockets provides employers with the money to be able to invest in promoting the business more than they would be able to if they had the conventional office type of setting. It seems like a winning combination.

Snorkeling or snorkel gear

Snorkeling or snorkel gear
Snorkeling or snorkel gear is really quite simple in concept and easily acquired in almost any dive shop. It’s available online through many locations and can be rented or purchased in most resort areas that feature water sports. Snorkeling gear consists of only three major items, the swim fins, the snorkel (breathing tube) and the face mask. You can add peripheral items such as gloves, wet suits, fin boots or snorkeling inflatable vests if you like, but not of those items are needed to enjoy the sport of snorkeling for the first time. The swim fins are made of a somewhat flexible man made material which amplifies the motion of your feet and legs and allows you to move more freely through the water. It’s very important to find a swim fin which provides the correct fit on your foot. A fin which is too large will continually slip off and may result in losing the fin. A loose fin can also rub on the foot and cause blisters or calluses. On the other hand, a swim fin that is too small is hard to put on and can also rub the foot unnecessarily. The next item of interest in the snorkeling gear is the snorkel or breathing tube. This item is also made of man-made materials. It is a long tube with a float or valve at one end which allows you to get air through the tube while lying face down in the water. When the upper end of the tube drops below the surface of the water, the valve shuts it off so that no water will get into the face mask or breathing tube itself. The snorkel is designed to fit into the left side of the face mask. Finally, there is the face mask which some consider to be the most important item in the snorkel gear. The face mask consists of a skirt or seal which fits to the face. Sealing can be helped by the application of petroleum jelly to the face in the area where the mask will fit. The mask must fit snugly, but not painfully so without extensive area between the face and the view plate, which can lead to difficulties in pressure equalization. The strap to the face mask fits high on the back of the head for maximum security. Taken together, these items constitute all the equipment needed for enjoying snorkeling..

Visual migraines

Visual migraines
There are three visual disturbances that occur in visual migraines, and each of these disturbances is triggered by separate stimuli. This kind of migraine is triggered by tiredness and stress, and this is often followed by your normal migraine headache, accompanied with vomiting. Good to know is that the visuals come after the headaches. If it was the other way around, you would probably experience the vomiting and the visuals at the same time. There is a central irregular point in the eye that becomes nothingness at the start of the migraine, and this might grow and last for around 30 minutes. This is easy for one to get around because you will still be able to see things around the edges of that nothingness. The border of this nothingness has unpredictable sides. It takes time before the nothingness fades and you are able to see properly. A great way of representing this visual migraine is in an oil painting. Superimpose an irregular polygon of a cold color onto the center of the painting. Now portray that polygon to grow in size and it will make an uninteresting painting. Second type, this time the expanding polygon has a major difference. The borders of it appear as bands of pulsating and scintillating color. The colors flow through and around the bands in waves, but irregular ones. There is no central part in the vision that is nothingness, but there is a distorted and broken image of the things you are looking at. If you are one that stares too long at table information on a monitor, visual migraines are usually triggered. If you can get around looking at spreadsheets on a computer, do so. Once you are infected, the migraine usually lasts for an hour. It is better to describe this type of migraine in a water painting. The visual content is high in degree that when trying to express it in a painting it’s difficult. The straight lines in the bands can be portrayed as bright colors scattered with white. Third type, this visual migraine is different. Spreadsheets on a computer can trigger this, but for other reasons. This migraine creates odd space in one’s vision that is not there. This is disturbing and can lead to unbalance. In a portrait, it is better to describe this as a 3D portrait, which can be extremely hard to produce when looking a flat image.
